When you purchase Applause, it appears as a clapping animation over the top of the video as you are watching. Users can buy Applause at any time for any video.
At the moment, it is only available on the YouTube app on Android in limited markets. These include the USA, Brazil, Canada, Australia, India, Japan, New Zealand, Korea and Mexico.
YouTube Shopping
Is there anyone out there who doesn’t shop online?? Even before the pandemic, the demand for e-commerce was growing at a rapid rate.
To keep up with this demand, YouTube seems to have found a way to incorporate shopping into their site in such a way so you can purchase goods without having to leave YouTube itself.
This is an excellent development for business and individuals who promote their products on YouTube.
Although it is only in the beta-testing stage at the moment, YouTube has confirmed that YouTube Shopping will allow consumers to:
“tap into the credibility and knowledge of trusted creators to make informed purchases directly on YouTube.”
This is excellent news for consumers and creators alike as you will be able to buy products as you see them on YouTube rather than leaving the site.
It is clear that YouTube wants to help creators build their business on YouTube and, their new innovations are sure to be welcomed by creators with open arms.
Applause and Shopping also benefit the customer.
With Applause, you feel like you are giving something tangible back to the creator for their time making their video. Shopping makes life easier for the consumer by enabling you to buy straight from YouTube. Both are clear signs that YouTube is taking this growing sector seriously.
